Alain is a graduate of the University of Southern California film and television school, and divides his time between Los Angeles and Montreal. Working his way through the ranks, Alain made his feature film debut as a writer/director on the thriller Canvas, for ABC Films, starring Gary Busey and John Rhys-Davies. He then wrote and directed the popular thriller Suspicious Minds for Lionsgate Pictures starring Patrick Bergin, followed by the Capra-esque comedy Promise Her Anything starring Billy Zane and legendary stage and screen star Barry Morse. In addition to his work in film, Alain has written and directed many critically acclaimed documentary and lifestyle television shows such as Debbie Travis’ Painted House (W Network & PBS), Her Money (W Network), The Things We do For Love (Slice TV), Dogs with Jobs (National Geographic) and What’s That About? (Discovery Channel).

In recent years, Alain directed the award winning Canadian box-office hit C’est Pas Moi, C’est L’Autre starring La Femme Nikita star Roy Dupuis, as well as the award winning independent film David & Fatima, a romantic tale set in Jerusalem, which co-stars Academy Award winning actor Martin Landau and screen icon Tony Curtis. In 2010, Alain completed two seasons (26 episodes) of the hit series The Property Shop, which airs weekly on HGTV. Currently, Alain is in development on a number of feature film and television projects in both Canada and the US, and has served on film juries for the 2009 Romanian International Film Festival as well as the 2010 Kansas City Film Festival.
